Not sure they are still, depending on what you did, but we can try. Should have read "AFTER the 32Gb partition would still HAVE BEEN recoverable. "AFTER the 32Gb partition would still be recoverable. If you're interested in these things it will be good learning in case you need it some other time :-) I like this sort of stuff so will be able to "help" tomorrow onwards. Others on here will probably be able to offer more up to date advice, but in the meantime you should research data recovery software. To be clear, it is many a year since I have tried to do this and I can't remember why/what/outcome, but depending on the "value" of the files I would definitely be looking into it. This is where data recovery software might be able to recover them. Whilst they wouldn't have been visible to you they might not have been actually deleted, just the table of contents has been deleted not the files. If it was like Helmut described, then I'm thinking all the files AFTER the 32Gb partition would still be recoverable. Įxactly what did you observe and do to restore your disk size. OK, I will be stuffing myself with a huge steak and good wine shortly and then watching my team in the big footy game, so it might be tomorrow before full attention. I have copied about 100g of mp3 files.I shall stop there pending further advice from you kind kind people! If you haven't got far you could cancel your copying and we could see we can do. Probably too late now, outside of professional recovery ( expensive ) but it might have been possible to recover those lost files, or most of them with free software. If you hear the sound of wailing and weeping, reader, tis I. Unfortunately it seems that I hadn`t fully backed up my "wonky" drive to that other drive so I seem to have lost loads of documents and photos. I seem to have managed to restore the size of the drive, and am now copying stuff back onto the newly enlarged drive from another hard drive.
